Senior Software Solution Architect Digital Content Producer and Director

Babak Arjomandi
Babak Arjomandi (b. 1976, Tehran) is a senior architect and developer of software, firmware, and IoT systems, with a career spanning over three decades. His programming journey began in 1991 on the Commodore 64, mastering BASIC and Pascal, which led him to develop music software for DOS by 1993 . Equipped with a strong foundation in electronics from his youth, he designed and soldered hardware components early on. Beyond his tech career, Babak is passionate about mountaineering and nature photography—his interest in both dating back to childhood. In 1988, he received his first camera (a Lubitel 2), which ignited his lifelong dedication to documenting natural landscapes. After completing military service in 1999, he officially launched his professional activities and also founded Namay-e Iran (iranview.ir), one of Iran’s first comprehensive tourism portals, which remains active today. In 2008, Babak moved to Canada, where in 2017 he established a small woodworking studio called “WoodThen” in Richmond Hill, creating handcrafted wooden pieces and producing short films about the process. In 2020, due to personal reasons and the onset of COVID‑19, he returned to Iran. Babak Arjomandi is the producer, writer, and director of the documentary Lake Desert (2019), in which he also served as cinematographer, editor, simulation artist, and filmmaker . The film explores the ancient Central Desert of Iran, once covered by a vast prehistoric lake, traveling across 1,600 km over four days and three nights to document the evolving desert landscape and its early coastal civilizations. Lake Desert was recognized in August 2019 with the “Best Nature/Travel Film” award at the European Cinematography Awards. Babak Arjomandi is the author of the modern mythological love story Avare Farnas (آور فرناس), first published in Tehran in 2002 (Persian calendar year 1380) by Kelk-e Azadegan, with 56 pages in paperback format. The story is set in ancient Persia and follows a young shepherd named Harpak, who falls deeply in love with a maiden called Darya. Their bond sparks a spiritual quest toward true union and existential unity. The narrative blends romantic themes with philosophical reflections on life, death, and love, rendered in a refined, classical Persian literary style . In 2013, Avare Farnas was republished by Versian Inc in Canada, retaining its original 56-page length and sharing its timeless mythic-romantic essence—exploring the diverse paths to bliss and authentic human existence beyond a prescribed way. Today, Babak runs picme.ir virtual gallery showcasing his photography, videos, books, digital content, and woodworking crafts—alongside developing digital content, writing, directing, shooting, and editing all media showcased. His photographic style emphasizes natural light, authentic scenes, and is often accompanied by Persian poetry to deepen the emotional connection . He views photography as “the art of capturing a moment in time and place with a single glance… like hunting—but not killing—the moment” . کلید‌واژه بابک ارجمندی‌Babak Arjomandi33K بازدید
